Plant-based Food to Fight the Blues!

Updated: Jun 23, 2022

Plant-Based food is inspiring, and learning more about it helps you understand vegans' commitment and compassion for animals and the environment. Although not everyone chooses to be vegan for animal rights purposes, the lifestyle benefits both them and the earth, so it's honorable regardless of whether anyone chooses to live a plant-based lifestyle.

Plant-Based food or more popularly called as Veganism is a way of life that aims to eliminate the use of animal products as far as possible. Vegans avoid foods derived from animals, such as poultry, milk, and dairy. Many vegans often avoid wearing leather and fur, as well as other items that require animal cruelty.

To inspire you to consider more of a plant-based lifestyle, here are some interesting facts about plan-based foods

In the 1940s, the Vegan Society was established, and the principle that animals should not be used for food or any other purpose was called "vegan.", which is 100 years old.

A vegan diet, according to Joseph Poore, the study's research director and lead author, is the safest way to minimize an individual's environmental footprint. Plant-based diets eliminate greenhouse gas emissions as well as global acidification, eutrophication, and land and water use.

Turin in Italy could go full vegetarian - Chiara Appendino, the mayor of Turin, has revealed plans to make the city vegetarian after her election. We all know how much the Italians love their meat and dairy products, so this is a huge step forward.

1 pound of wheat requires approximately 25 gallons of water, while 1 pound of beef requires approximately 2,500 gallons of water.

According to the most recent United Nations projections, the global population will be 7.9 billion in 2021. As a result, the overall number of vegans in the world is estimated to be about 79 million as of January 2021, which is 1 percent of the world population.

A plant-based diet improves the body's metabolism, allowing it to consume calories up to 16 percent faster than a meat-based diet for at least the first 3 hours after meals, according to many reports.

Fortunately, veganism has the potential to save our oceans! Overfishing, pollution, and climate change all contribute to ocean dead zones, which are destroying marine habitats. If the animal food industries and their activities shift, scientists predict fishless oceans by 2048.

Veganism has the potential to end world hunger! According to studies, if we grew our crops directly for human consumption rather than feeding them to farmed animals and then eating them, we could feed an additional 4 billion people.

Another philosophical rationale to be vegan is to stop lowering our spiritual consciousness by ingesting the vibrations of the animals. When we eat an animal, the animal becomes a part of us. We are ingesting not only the animal's flesh, but also its sounds when it was abused or killed, as well as their hormones.

In three months, a vegan diet caused more than 500 genes to shift, turning on genes that prevent disease and turning off genes that cause cancer, heart disease, and other illnesses, according to a study led by Nobel Laureate Elizabeth Blackburn.

It might sound strange, but consuming foods grown in garden and reducing  personal environmental effect can make you feel much closer to the Earth. We come from the earth and go back to the earth, and having a strong relationship with the planet can have a powerful influence on our lives.

Who doesn't want to wake up feeling positive, bright, and ready to take on the day? Did you know that plants produce phytonutrients, which are natural chemicals that enhance your brain health in a relatively short period of time? People feel better all over after consuming fruits and vegetables, according to research.

Plants have a special way of giving us the well-cared-for feeling that we all want. Some foods outperform others in terms of unique nutrient profiles that boost your mood and provide you with the confidence and overall happiness you need. Eat up more of these each day and you’ll feel all bright and shiny in no time!
